The Mayfair Shopper size XS from Handed By is a trendy, woven bag with a houndstooth pattern. A lightweight, durable shopper, practical for taking to the office or for small shopping trips. The faux leather (PU) handles ensure comfortable carrying and give the bag a luxurious look. Inside, there's a hook where you can hang your keys or a sunglasses case, for example.

The bag is mainly made from PE plastic - and the great thing is: 70% of this material is recycled. Modern recycling processes make it possible for, for example, deposit bottles that consumers have put into the return machines in supermarkets to be shredded, cleaned, and pressed into small bales. These bales or scraps are then melted and spun into polyester threads, which can then be used again for the production of new products, from garden furniture to pallets, to household and kitchen appliances and textiles of all kinds.
The topic of sustainability at Handed By is just as much an inherent part of the company strategy as the production of the range, which is characterized by social and societal responsibility. Handed By products are mainly manufactured in Vietnam and China. Two countries with centuries-old know-how in handicraft techniques, but also with typical Asian traditions and customs. This requires respect, understanding, and patience. Many of the people living there earn their main income from working in the rice fields or with cows, poultry, and fruit cultivation on their small farms. They live with their children, parents, and grandparents under one roof. To improve their livelihood, some mothers and grandmothers weave the baskets for Handed By after their daily work. They can freely integrate weaving into their daily routine and work at home, far from mass production in factories. When the baskets are finished, they are brought to a collection point, where they are inspected and cleaned, and the finishing touches are also applied. From a central warehouse, they are packed and shipped to the Netherlands. Handed By provides work for around 300 skilled craftswomen. Women who carry out their profession with love, for fair pay, and, above all, under healthy and hygienic conditions, and who are very committed to Handed By.
A strategy with which the Dutch company has grown to become the leading brand for high-quality, hand-woven baskets, bags, and home accessories. All products bearing the unique brand stamp in the form of a metal emblem with a handprint are produced sustainably, fairly, and reliably, 100% without child labor.
